Mr. Ralph Howard Mowery

Ralph Howard Mowery, 80 of Avon Lake, formerly of Bay Village, passed away, Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at St. John Medical Center, following a brief illness. Mr. Mowery was born January 10, 1934 in Cleveland. He was a graduate of Orange High School and attended the former Fenn Business College, Cleveland. He served his country in the United States Navy for four years beginning in 1953 and finish his service with the Navy Reserves being honorably discharged on March 4, 1961. Mr. Mowery was employed by the Standard Oil Company of Ohio (Sohio), Cleveland, for 45 years working in the accounting office and retiring as the senior credit manager. In 1985 he serviced at the president of the Quarter Century Club (Later BP). He was active in his community serving as President of the Bay Rockets Association at Bay Village High School and he was on the board of the Bay Men's Club. Ralph was also a member of Bay United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer and dedicated Cleveland Browns and Indians fan. Ralph will be deeply missed by his family to whom he was the devoted husband of Marilyn Nichols Mowery for 61 years and loving father of Ralph Jr. (Kelly), Susan Kohl (David), Lynn Sirizzotti (Rich), Richard (Heidie), David, Jane Rogozinski (deceased) (Mike), Scott (Victoria). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 32000 Detroit Rd., Avon, Saturday, April 26 from 10am until time of memorial service at 11:30am. Interment will be private St. Joseph Cemetery, Avon.
