Michelle Ann "Mitz" (Bruck) Zaiser was born on February 6, 1968, to William and Darlene (Assmann) Bruck in Harlan, Iowa. She was raised in Harlan and graduated from Harlan High School in 1986. During high school she worked at Nub's Pub. Mitz then attended Steward School of Hair Design in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She worked part time in the Younker's Beauty Shop and then at her own shop in Portsmouth and she also worked part time at Club 191. On February 23, 1991, Mitz married David Zaiser at St Mary's Catholic Church in Portsmouth. The couple lived in Missouri Valley, Iowa. In 1994 Mitz was involved in a car accident and her injuries made it difficult to stand and fix hair. She continued to work part time at Club 191. On May 12, 2000, the couple had a son, Austin. In 2002 the family moved to Logan. Mitz was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Logan, Iowa. Mitz's life revolved around Austin. She was his #1 football fan. She was also a Minnesota Vikings fan. Mitz loved music and attending concerts. She particularly likes the Judds and Celine Dion. Mitz died on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa at the age of 46 years, two months, and 27 days. Mitz was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mark Bruck and Norbert "Nub" and Eunice Assmann and parents-in-law, Fred and Alice Zaiser. She is survived by her husband, Dave Zaiser of Logan, Iowa; son, Austin Zaiser of Logan, Iowa; parents, Bill & Darlene "Mase" Bruck of Portsmouth, Iowa; two brothers, Todd Bruck and special friend Nicole of Grimes, Iowa, BJ Bruck and his wife Tracy of Earling, Iowa; grandmother, Helen Bruck of Portsmouth, Iowa; two brothers-in-law, Gerry Zaiser and his wife Sandi of Logan, Iowa, Dan Zaiser and his wife Kathy of Missouri Valley, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
