IRIS HOPKINS DAVIS Iris Hopkins Davis, 91, of Independence, MO passed away August 11, 2013 at her home. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, August 14th 2013 at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 3736 South Lee's Summit Rd, Independence, MO 64055. Reverend James Toronto will be officiating the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mark's Church on Thursday, August 15th at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Longview Cemetery. Iris was born on December 11th, 1921 in Olla, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Erskine (Tex) Davis; her father, Omar Hopkins Sr.; her mother, Lottie Hopkins; her brother, Omar Hopkins Jr.; sister, Patricia Tyler and two grandsons. Iris was an employee of the Social Security Administration for 30 years. She is survived by her daughters, Queenell Davis, Neysa Kurle and husband A.J., Tana Cosentino and husband David, Ceryse Diaz and husband Mike; her son, Rance Davis and wife Katrina; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as their precious "Mimi".
