Joan Lorraine Goldsmith

Joan Lorraine Goldsmith, 86, a devout Christian, an amazing mother, sister, aunt, phenomenal grandmother, incredible great-grandmother, enthusiastic teacher, and true friend to all she met, entered into her heavenly rest on August 4, 2014 after a brave fight with cancer. Jo's greatest achievements have been in the lives of her family, she loved them deeply and was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a dedicated Christian that volunteered tirelessly for Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church where she was ordained as an elder in January of this year. She leaves her family with the knowledge that they are truly loved. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday August 10, 2014 at 2 PM at Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church. Family will receive friends after the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy, 925 Busse Road, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007 or to childrenscardiomyopathy.org.
