Dean Paul Powers

Our beloved Dean Paul Powers, 60, of Phoenix, passed away on November 9, 2014. He was born on June 22, 1954 to John and Charlotte (Gibeault) Powers in Marinette, WI. He graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1972 and the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1976. Dean worked as a Chemical Engineer for Rohm & Haas. On January 12, 1974 he married Deborah Poquette in Menomonee, MI. He enjoyed entertaining people, the mountains of Colorado, and "toys" such as ATVs and snowmobiles. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with people, especially family. He was always organizing family trips and get-togethers. He wanted to spend time with everyone, hosting and making them feel welcome. Dean is survived by his loving spouse of 40 years Deborah, twin brother Dale (Patty) Powers, brother John (Lorraine) Powers, and sisters Donna (Wayne) Jensen and Leila (Terry) Wanke. He is also survived by nieces Wendy Jensen and Sheila (Jason) Keaton, nephew Nathan Powers, and great-niece Ivy Keaton; brothers-in-law Raymond Poquette, Jr. and Gerald Poquette, sister-in-law Judith Poquette; nephews-in-law David Poquette and Todd Hamilton, niece-in-law Danielle Le Barron; great nieces and nephew-in-law Abigail Le Barron, Julia Le Barron and Maya Poquette and Evan Poquette. He is further survived by numerous other nieces and nephews who all held a special place in his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jean Powers, and parents-in-law Raymond and Marian Poquette. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2014 from 5:00-8:00pm at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 W. Thunderbird Rd. Peoria, AZ. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 6180 W. Utopia Rd. Glendale, AZ. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Dean's name may be given to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org or the American Heart Association at www.donate.heart.org.
