John J. Harvey Jr.

John J. Harvey, Jr., 89, of Medfield, formerly of Needham and originally from Brighton., died on Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Thomas Upham House in Medfield. Born in Brighton on August 24, 1925 to Catherine O'Brien Harvey and John J. Harvey, John served in the U.S. Navy as a Corpsman in the Pacific theatre during World War II. He married Joan Cunningham of Brighton on August 4, 1951. John was graduated from Boston College in 1953 and enjoyed a long career as a pharmaceutical salesman for E.R. Squibb. John was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his entire family in New Hampshire. His passion was skiing and he taught his grandchildren to ski and enjoy winter sports. John was the beloved husband of the late Joan (Cunningham) Harvey and devoted father of Ann E. Stadolnik of Medfield, John J. Harvey, III of Medfield, Julie Cass of Sparta, NJ and the late Neal E. Harvey. He was the brother of the late James P. Harvey. Dear grandfather to Edward Stadolnik, Kathryn Stadolnik, Margaret Stadolnik, Matthew Stadolnik, Claire Stadolnik, Carolina Harvey, Melanie Harvey, Ana Gabriela Harvey, Meghan Cass, Leah Cass, Olivia Cass, Lisa Harvey and Neal E. Harvey, Jr. Great grandfather of Emma Stadolnik, Brady Stadolnik, Teddy Stadolnik, Caroline Donovan and Leyla McBride. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Edward the Confessor Church in Medfield on Friday, April 10 at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours at the Eaton Funeral Home in Needham will be held Thursday, April 9 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
