Phyllis I. Schoup

Phyllis I. Schoup, age 84, of Sturgis, MI passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015 at her home. She was born April 10, 1931 in Kendallville, IN a daughter to the late Roy and Alice (Ford) Wentworth. On April 20, 1950 in Kendallville, IN she married Loyal J. Schoup. He preceded her in death July 30, 1985. Phyllis had been employed at Sturgis Newport Business Forms from 1957 – 1970. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, and was proud of her flower garden. Surviving are two daughters: Cynthia (Larry) Wolf of Auburn, IN and Connie (Jack) Krontz of Ft. Myers, FL; 5 grandchildren: Julie (Kevin) Yoder of Butler, IN, Jennifer (Cory) Hull of Fremont, IN, Curtis Polly Jr. of Sturgis, MI, Kirsten Polly of Ft. Myers, FL, and Casey Krontz of Ft. Myers, FL; 8 great-grandchildren: Joshua Yoder, Jared Yoder, Jordan Yoder, MaKayla Hull, Jacob Hull, Curtis Polly III, Mayson Polly, Lucas Malcolm, and Benjamin Krontz; a Step-son: Richard Schoup of Kendallville, IN; Step-grandchildren: Laura Schoup and Patrick Schoup; 2 sisters: Lavonne Forbes and Linda Wentworth; 3 brothers: Charles Wentworth, Ray Wentworth, and Richard Wentworth. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister: Marjorie Rouch, 2 brothers: Gerald Wentworth and Roy Wentworth. The family will receive friends and relatives from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Monday, at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091. Services celebrating the life of Phyllis I. Schoup will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home with the Rev. Rodger Moyer, Sturgis Evangelical Church, officiating. Interment and graveside services will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. The family suggest memorial donations be directed to Hospice of Sturgis. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
