OXFORD WOLF Mrs. Muriel Jean ("Dee Dee") Kilpatrick Oxford Wolf died peacefully in her sleep Tuesday morning January 21, 2014. Mrs. Wolf was 89 years old. Born May 9, 1924, in San Antonio, Mrs. Wolf attended Thomas Jefferson High School. There she performed as part of the Lassos, which had the distinction of being the only spirit group in the country that twirled lassos as they marched. With the Lassos she appeared in the 1940 movie "High School" and also performed at the White House for Eleanor Roosevelt. After graduating from high school in 1941, Mrs. Wolf attended the University of Texas. While at Texas, Mrs. Wolf was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, a Blue Bonnet Belle, and a Red Cross Nurses' Aide. She also worked on the Daily Texan staff. She graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism in 1945. In 1943 she married Dr. Marvin Bradfield (Brad) Oxford, of Floresville, Texas. Brad soon left to serve as an Army Captain in World War II. They had four sons she fiercely loved, Terry, Larry, Alan, and Brad. She and Dr. Oxford enjoyed 49 wonderful years together until he died of cancer in 1992. Eight years later she married Thomas A. Wolf, a childhood and longtime friend who had recently been widowed. Mr. and Mrs. Wolf enjoyed 5 beautiful years together traveling and ballroom dancing before he passed away in 2005. Mrs. Wolf had a long and distinguished record of community service. She was very active in her church, St. Mark's Episcopal, where she served on the vestry twice, was Chairman of the Altar Guild and of the Daughters of the King, and worked as a wedding consultant. She also served as President of the Bexar County Medical Auxiliary and the Texas Medical Auxiliary and as a member of the Chamber of Commerce's Health Committee. Mrs. Wolf was a member of the Battle of Flowers Association and served as Chair of the Battle of Flowers Parade for two years and as Secretary. She was on the Boards of the Good Samaritan Center and the Community Guidance Center. Mrs. Wolf was also an active member of the Junior League of San Antonio, serving as Chairman of the Newsletter and Publicity Committees and of the Metropolitan Opera Auditions. She was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni Association, the Forum, the Revelers, the Lamplighters, the Petroleum Club, and the San Antonio Country Club. "Dee Dee" greatly enjoyed playing golf, reading, traveling, dancing, and spending time with her family and partying with her friends. She loved the University of Texas, Longhorn football, Kappa Kappa Gamma, the Battle of Flowers, Fiesta, and the Texas Coast. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Preceding her in death were her mother and father, Henrietta and Chester Kilpatrick; her brother, Chester Kilpatrick, Jr.; her nephew, Chester Kilpatrick III; and her husbands, Dr. Brad Oxford and Thomas Wolf. Surviving members of her family are Terrell Wallace Oxford of Dallas and his wife, Joan; Larry Brian Oxford; Alan Michael Oxford of Lafayette, California, and his wife, Margaret; Brad Oxford and his wife, Sedley; Richard Wolf and wife, Laura; Thomas Wolf, Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina, and wife, Penny; Lucie Wolf Taylor of Austin and husband Kent; grandchildren Erin, Lauren, Kyle, Vanessa, Michael, Robert and Andrew Oxford; Andrew, Richard, Jeffrey Wolf; Lindsay Lowrance Schleuter and husband Brad; Nash Lowrance and wife Sophie; Lauren Wolf; Thomas Wolf III and wife Sherry; Hill Clark, Sedley Clark, and Robert Clark; and great-grandchildren Jordan and Brooke Wolf; Eloise, Josephine, and Clara Lowrance; first cousin Margaret Ann Zipp and children Albert Zipp, Fred Zipp, and Robert Zipp; niece Dr. Sharon Oxford, and nephew Jerry Oxford and wife Addie.
