We were shocked and saddened by this very sad news. We have very fond memories of Dan, he was a true gentleman, he always laughing or had a smile on his face. Our heart goes out to Robin and the entire Hansen Family. We will pray that you find strength to get through the days ahead.

My father-in-law, Dan, was seriously the nicest person I have ever met. I had the pleasure of knowing him for a mere 14 years and I can't say I ever saw him truly angry or heard him raise his voice in anger. He was so sweet with my son James and his other 3 grand kids. And I know he must've been a great father because he helped raise one of my greatest gifts in life, my husband Jonathan. I will miss him deeply and I will keep his memory alive so that James always remembers his Papa.

Mr. Hansen was a huge part of my youth and I have many great memories that include him. His daughter Ericka and I spent every spare moment together and I spent many day's and nights at the Hansen's home. Every year on our birthday Mr. Hansen would buy my twin sister and I a bag of M & M's symbolizing the nickname that he had for us, "The M & M Twins", for our names Melissa and Melanie. Each birthday the M & M bags were larger than the year before, and every year we couldn't believe they made a bag of candy that large. I will never forget his sense of humor, generosity, and contagious smile. He will always be remembered. My sympathies to the family.

Dan, you will truly be missed. Our relationship goes back over 35 years. You and Robin were one of my sister's closest friends going thru high school and beyond. Sandy and I always enjoy looking at our wedding pictures, that you took as the photographer back in 1980. I know over the years people go on with their lives, but I know looking at our wedding pictures or talking about playing co-ed softball for a season back in the 90's, you'll always be in our memories. Our hearts go out to Robin and family.

So very sorry Robin on your loss of a great, great person to know. I worked with Dan at Comerica Park. It was always good to see him on game days. Dan never had nothing but nice things to say. He was a pleasure to work with. A pleasure to talk with. He will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers will be with the whole family. As for you Dan. I will forever remember some of the good conversations we had. Bless you my friend.

I could always count on Dan to come in with something he was pondering. Big or little questions of life. I will miss him.

Dan photographed my wedding 23 years ago. He made a comment to me that day that I will never forget. I showed up with my quite long hair at that time, pulled back on the sides and draped down my back. When he saw me, he said with a look of relief and joy, "Oh good. You look lovely. I'll never understand why people look one way every day of their life but when they show up to their wedding day they look completely different, with their hair all pulled up." It stuck with me for 23 years and will for the rest of my days - be who you are. Dan - I want you to know that the week before, I went into the salon for a "trial run" on my hairdo and had them pull it all up. At the last minute, I decided not to do it since I thought it looked too big. Thanks my friend - you will always have a place in helping shape my worldview.

Dan, is going to be missed, I had a lot of great memories, starting at Davis Jr HIgh School, into Stevenson HS, until they opened up the new HS, where he finished. We played softball together in Sterling Hgts, with a lot of good guy's. We have talked time to time, saying we need to get together, but we know how life is with our Family's, never easy. The last time I seen Dan was down town Utica for are 6 dollar pizza and beer's with Ed, laughing about old time's that I will never forget. Dan will alway's be in my thought's , and his Family in my prayers
