Isabel M. Doolan

Isabel M. (Riordan) Doolan 93, a Franklin resident since 1983, and a former longtime Brookline resident, died Saturday May 14, 2016 at the Franklin Health & Rehabilitation Center, following an extended period of failing health. She was the wife of the late John H. Doolan, who died in 1994. Born at home on Roberts St. in Brookline, July 28, 1922, a daughter of the late Patrick and Isabella (Hamilton) Riordan, she was raised and educated in Brookline, and lived there until moving to Franklin. For many years, Mrs. Doolan worked as a receptionist in the office of Dr. Thomas Ford, DDS in Brookline, and then went on to work as a warehouse supervisor for the former Sand-Eve Sales Company in Allston, she retired from there in 1986. Upon moving to Franklin, Isabel and John moved into the apartment above the Oteri Funeral Home. Isabel took over as the answering service and housekeeper. She was always there to answer the door, and many families took comfort in knowing that there was always someone living in the funeral home. She is survived by a son, Denis P. Doolan and his wife Sandra (Piccini) Doolan of Brockton, a daughter Donna M. (Doolan) Oteri and her husband Charles F. Oteri of Franklin, 5 grandchildren, Brendon C. Oteri, Sean A. Oteri and his wife Dianne M. (Greenwood) Oteri, Michelle L. (Oteri) Davide and her husband Michael J. Davide all of Franklin, Lisa M. Doolan of Marshfield and Elisabeth Doolan of Abington, 9 great grandchildren, Zackery J. Oteri, Anthony J. Oteri, Jordan A. Oteri, Isabella M. Oteri Michael J. Davide, Jr., and Gabriella A. Davide all of Franklin, Brittani Barrows, Myah I. Fontes and Nevaeh E. Fontes all of Marshfield, and many nieces and nephews. She is also the sister of the late Robert Riordan, Dorothy Larkin, Ursula DeLuca, Jeanette Lyons, Priscilla P. Nowell and Ruth Teperow. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Wednesday May 18th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. with a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin at 10AM. Interment will follow at the family lot in Walnut Hills Cemetery, Brookline. Calling hours are Tuesday May 17th from 4-7PM.
