Roy Hendrickson Obituary
Mr. Hendrickson was the plant maintenance supervisor at Kennametal Inc. in Willoughby for 34 years before retiring in 1988. He was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran who proudly served his country, a 70 year member of the American Legion, and a member of VFW, and also a talented craftsman and an amazing husband, father and grandfather and an inspiration for all who knew him.
Surviving Roy is his wife of 66 years, Violetta; children Holly (Thomas) Theis, Colleen (Ronald Ellis) Hemphill, Denise (Tom) Hagen and Roy "Eric" (Cindy) Hendrickson; 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and his sister Helen Anderson. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Lura Hendrickson; siblings, Kathryn Duffalo, Margaret "Sue" Williams; Earl "Bud" and Charles "Wally" Hendrickson and his twin sister, Ruth Hendrickson.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
The family will receive guests from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment and a full military service will be at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chesterland.
