Gordon "Gordie" Widmeyer, 66 died unexpectedly Monday, May 16, 2016 in his home. He was born December 23, 1949 in Baltimore MD.
Gordie's family resided in Detroit and he attended St. Francis Home for Boys School. As a young teen, he moved to Port Huron to live with his Grandparents. He remained in Port Huron and worked at familiar places such as the Zebra Bar, Eifert's Eggairy, Marshall Campbell and Ross Bible Church. He was an avid sports fan including the "Port Huron Flags Hockey", University of Michigan football and enjoyed playing and coaching softball. Gordie was a devoted friend and volunteer, who loved his family and pets. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by brother, William "Bill" Widmeyer; aunt, Eleanor Eifert; and several cousins including Michelle Eifert, Virginia Engelgau and Linda Askar Stoldt.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 4, 2016 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. His cousin, the Reverend George F. Askar, Jr., will officiate.
Gordie's family prefers memorials be made to American Diabetes Association, Blue Water Area Humane Society or a favorite charity of your choice.

Gordie was a very nice neighbor of ours. We were very sad to hear of his passing. Please know that his family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers .
