Randy Hillard Gantt

Randy Hillard Gantt, 63, of Carrie Lane, died May 24, 2016. He was born February 13, 1953 in Lincoln County to the late Hillard Kenneth Gantt and Bryte Pearson Gantt of Cherryville. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Randy was a very talented carpenter and was owner of Gantt Carpentry and Construction. He enjoyed listening to heavy metal music and was a Young & the Restless fan. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Melissa Gantt of Western Australia and her mother, Susan Carpenter of Winston Salem; siblings, Rodney Dean Gantt of Cherryville and Renee Gantt Heffner (Craig) of Bessemer City; Niece, Krista Gantt Phillips (Zakk) of Cherryville; nephews, Brandon Heffner of Shelby and Landon Heffner of Bessemer City; grandniece, Valerie Heffner; special friends, Sissy Craft and children, Macie Craft Hipps (Chris) and their son, Levi, Dylan and Laura Craft and Mike Cook. Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services with Josh Collins presiding. Burial will be private. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:45 PM Saturday. A celebration of Randy's Life will be held Saturday after 7:00 PM at the Pythian Lodge on St. Mark's Church Rd.
