George J. Tatakis

George J. Tatakis, of Wellesley formerly of Needham passed away on May 30, 2016 at his home. He was 90. George was born in New Bedford, MA and served in the US Army during WW II and was awarded a Bronze Star. He graduated from Boston University and received his Masters in accounting from Bentley College. George worked as an auditor at Hanscom Air Base in Bedford for over 30 years and also had his own CPA business. He was very active in his church, St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Weston, where he had been a member of the choir for over 20 years, was past treasurer of the parish council, and was a member of the bowling league. He was also a member of the George Menichios Post of the Ahepa. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing in Mattapoisett. George was the beloved husband of Lola (Lymberis) Tatakis and loving father of Maria Tatakis of Natick and James Tatakis and his wife Veneta of Bedford, NH. Dear grandfather of Chris, Stephanie, George and Anna. A visiting hour will be held on Fri June 3 beginning at 9 AM in St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 57 Brown St. Weston followed by his funeral service at 10 AM. Interment services will be private. In lieu of flowers a donation in memory of George to St. Demetrios Church would be greatly appreciated.
