Just learned of Dan's untimely death. Indeed, only the good die young!! Dan was a great friend and Irishman in every sense of the word; I'm sure he will have some good stories and laughs for us when we join him in heaven.

My sincere condolences to Danny's family. So much fun in Roseland hanging out. Alot of memories as kids walking to St. Willy's together in the mornings and getting on the bus to basketball games, me as the cheerleader and Danny playing basketball. So sad to hear this news as these friendships live on forever. Too young to leave his family.

To the family, I am so sorry for your loss. Dan and I worked together at UPS in the late 1980's I will always cherish all the good times we had in Bedofrd Park East. It was Dan that taught this Hub rat how to be a package car supervisor.

I have fond memories of Dan going back to the early eighties in the days of Package Car. I especially remember playing softball against Dan and the West Center at our company picnics! Dan was a good, kind, and warm natured guy, and will be missed by everyone who knew him. I will be praying for you all that God gives you peace that surpasses all understanding and that He comforts your hearts at this time of your loss.

I first met Dennis O'Leary at the old High-Low grocery store in Roseland. We both started work there on the same day back in 1970. Soon Denny's brother Danny started working there "unofficially" as a carry-out person, helping customers to their vehicles with their purchases. With the O'Leary Family you can't be friends with one without being friends with them all so soon I had the pleasure of hanging out with the parents, Tom and Betty, and the rest of the clan, Tommy, Nancy, Maureen, Eileen, as well as Dennis and Danny. Dennis joined me at high school, transferring over from Fenger, with Danny following along. Years later Danny was telling me how he needed to leave his construction job and to find another career. I directed him to UPS where I was working at the time as a delivery driver. Danny spent 33 years there and I spent 37 years there and our paths crossed a few times. He was a good guy; an easy laugh and we had so much to laugh about! Thanks for the good times! My deepest sympathies the Family, especially to his siblings, and may God bless his soul!

I had the pleasure of meeting Dan at his sister Eileen's wedding. As Eileen and I talked before her wedding she just kept telling me more and more about her brother and how much she loved him. What a great man he was and how excited she was to have them walk down the aisle with her. The song she chose was Dannyboy to honor her brother. He was so proud so sweet and so kind.
