Ethel E. (Mack) Lee

MIDDLETON-Mrs. Ethel E. (Mack) Lee 102, of Middleton, beloved wife of the late Robert Lee, died, Thursday, July 21, 2016. Born in Lexington, Ethel was the daughter of the late Roy and Elizabeth A. (Cavanaugh) Mack. She was raised and educated in Lexington and New Hampshire. She was a graduate of Plymouth State College, Salem State College and Boston University. She earned both her Bachelors and Master's Degree in Education. Mrs. Lee was a well-known educator and taught in the Town of Middleton and Danvers School Systems for over 40 years. She taught at both the Howe-Manning School and the Great Oak School. For her final two years in education she was the Assistant Principal at the Great Oak School until the time of her retirement. She was a beloved teacher and a deeply respected educator. With an outgoing personality and ever present smile, Ethel lived a long, full and happy life. She was a devout Catholic in her beliefs and actions and an originating member of St. Agnes Parish in Middleton. She volunteered her time with North Shore Catholic Charities and at St. Agnes for many years. A longtime resident of the Town of Middleton, Ethel was an active member of the Middleton Council on Aging and volunteered for many years at the Flint Public Library in Middleton. She enjoyed traveling all over the world and spending time with her many dear friends. Always ready to celebrate life, Ethel was a happy person and spread joy where ever she ventured. Her positive outlook on life was truly contagious and she always saw the good in everyone. She loved visiting with her former students and took great pride in their life's accomplishments. She truly was a treasure for those who were lucky enough to have been her friend and she will be deeply missed. Ethel is survived by her niece Patricia Mack of Topsfield, her many cousins including John MacRae of Canada and extended family including the Robert Maloney family of Wolfeboro, N.H., formerly of Danvers and Paul and Dorothy Zwicker of Danvers. She was the sister of the late Mary Mack. ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Friday July 29th at 10:30 A.M. followed by her funeral Mass in St. Agnes Church, Boston St., Middleton, at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Oakdale Cemetery, Middleton. Visiting hours prior to the funeral from 9 to 10:30 A.M.
