Dr. James Reiff

Dr. James Reiff, age 81 of Sturgis, Michigan passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers, Michigan. He was born March 17, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois a son to the late Nathan and Frieda (Shertz) Reiff. James spend the majority of his life in the Michiana area. Settling in Sturgis, Michigan 22 years ago. He worked as a doctor for many years in the family practice. Later on in life he found his true passion was working as a doctor in the mental health and addictions field. In James' free time he enjoyed music, travel and learning. Surviving are his children: Greg Reiff of Bonita Springs, Florida, James (Caryn) S. Reiff, II of Issaquah, Washington, Cynthia (Hayato) Nakamura of Phoenix, Arizona and Jeffery (Dee) Reiff of Renton, Washington; Eight Grandchildren; 11 Great-Grandchildren and sister: Joan Lyons of New York, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents. In accordance with his wished cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating the life of James Reiff will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, at the First United Methodist Church, 200 Pleasant Ave., Sturgis, MI, 49091.
