Lou was a wonderful gentleman. We had both been employed by SOM DSS OIG at different times, but with many a shared understanding.

A true gentleman. We will miss your songs and sea stories.
Thank you for being a friend and mentor to so many of us young whipper snappers and blazing a wonderful trail for all your fellow Chiefs to follow.

Hi Rose
I not sure you remember Tracy and I (Skip Lorens), we were stationed at sangb in the late 70's and early 80's. So sorry to hear of the passing of Louis.. We shared many good times with folks while in Detroit, especially the CPOA functions. We have you and Louis's family in our prayers..Fair winds and following seas. God speed.

When I joined the American Legion, Lew was one of the first members to greet me. He was wearing a Navy veterans cap. I ask his " What boat did you serve on ? " Boy, did I ever get a lesson on what a boat & ship were. From Coast Guard, then to serve in the Army,Senior Chief in the Navy. Outstanding. I'll miss your laughter, good humor, patriotic songs, speaking German & most important, the lessons and history you shared with me. You are truly missed. "Welcome Home" my good friend. (Slow Salute)
