Lyons/Newark—Linda May Benfer, 59, died Monday (October 17, 2016) at her home in Lyons.
Friends may call from 11 AM till noon on Friday (October 21st) at the Church of Christ, 219 West Avenue, Newark where a funeral sevice will be held at Noon, with Rev. Earlvin Greene officiating.
Linda was born on August 13, 1957, in Rochester the daughter of Norman and Elizabeth Peters LaPlant, Sr. She served in the US Army. Linda was a member of the Church of Christ and had been a Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by her mother Elizabeth Anderson of Rochester; four sisters Lorraine (Ira) Tohafjian of Savannah, Christine (Ray) Hadley of Rochester, Kimberly (Gerald) Minns of Phelps, and Marjorie Townsend of Newark; five brothers Norman (Kim) LaPlant, Jr. of Lyons, Wayne (Michelle Ficcaro) LaPlant, Dale McCarthy of Conquest, Timothy McCarthy of Wolcott and Mark (Wendy) McCarthy of Niagara Falls; two stepchildren Marsha Beaumont of Lyons and Russell Benfer of Fl. Linda was predeceased by her husband Charles Benfer.

Mom I'm sorry this is late. I love and miss u so much it's been 8 yrs now. How I would give anything in the world to talk to u and Dad just once . A day I will never forget but wish to god I could have another day with u in my life. I will always and forever love and miss u mom. Til we meet again hugs and kisses.

Mom I love and miss u so much. It's been 5 yrs since God took u from me. I hope ur with dad grandma and uncle Jimmy. Our memories we have are through the years will always stay with me the good and the bad. I love and miss u so much. One we will be reunited and catch up on everything. Never forget u and dad grandma an uncle Jimmy I will always and forever love and miss u.
