Rita R. Pikul

HOLYOKE Rita R. (Sicard) Pikul, age 84, of Holyoke, died on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Holyoke Medical Center. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late William and Helen (Goshea) Sicard and attended Holyoke Public Schools. Rita was employed as a housekeeper at Holyoke and Providence Hospitals and later was a cafeteria worker for Holyoke Public Schools, until her retirement in 1991. She was predeceased by her husband Karl K. Pikul, a son Robert Pikul, three brothers, Leo, Louis and Nelson Sicard and three sisters, Florence Delaney, Lillian Kalas and Shirley Guz. Rita is survived by six sons, Paul of Holyoke, Karl Jr., of FL, Stanley of FL, Steve of Southampton, Mark of NH, and John of Belchertown; seven daughters, Beverly Rowell of Chicopee, Susan Carroll of Chicopee, Patricia King of Holyoke, Rita DeRosier of Holyoke, Tina Feschuk of PA, Lynn Orlowski of Springfield and Sandra Haas of Chicopee; one sister, June Smith of PA, 40 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 34 Jarvis Avenue. Burial will follow in Forestdale Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Peter's Church, 34 Jarvis Avenue, Holyoke, MA 01040 or Epilepsy Foundation of New England, 335 Main St, #8, Wilmington, MA 01887.
