Hazel Dee Duvall

A funeral service for Hazel Dee (Huckleberry) Duvall will be held 12:00 pm, Saturday, December 17 at the Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory – Greenwood Chapel 481 West Main Street with viewing from 10:00 am to service time. Graveside services will be held immediately afterward at Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Duvall lived a wonderfully eventful life of 96 years and was preceded in death by her cherished husband Marion Duvall Jr. in 2004. Joining him again was her everlasting wish. She is survived by loving daughters Vickie Johns of Indianapolis, Billie Sue Porter of Mooresville, and sons Monte Monroe of Goodyear, Arizona and Michael Duvall of Austin, Texas. Her special son in laws Albert Porter of Mooresville, Michael Johns, plus nephew John Hudson of Greenwood made her so proud. She also has ten grandchildren, plus countless great and great great grandchildren. Thus, the vibrations from her example and long life will continue on and on. Mrs. Duvall was born in Crothersville, Indiana in 1920, witnessing some of the most momentous scientific and cataclysmic changes in our history. Her stories of days gone by were time capsule priceless. Her impact on those she loved was similar, and will surely continue another century. She was shy but so strong, straight forward, loving, nurturing, and good. So too was her home cooking…. Her daily admonition was "Go Have Fun, Be Happy!". Her humble motto was "Don't worry about me, I am fine". That indeed she was. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Foundation are welcome.
