Robert Louis "Bob" Neumann, age 85, of Seven Hills, Ohio; beloved husband of 62 years of Clara D. Neumann (nee Diesler), to whom he was married in 1955; loving father of Mark Neumann (Deborah), Thomas Neumann (Laura), and Sandra Laborie (Douglas); dear grandfather of Terence Neumann (Allison), Virginia Habig (Jason), Patrick Neumann (Meagan), Cassandra Neumann, Bradly Neumann, Stephanie Neumann, John Robert Laborie (Erin), Sarah Laborie, Samantha Laborie and Joseph Laborie, and great-grandfather of James Neumann, Sebastian Neumann, Calvin Habig, Nathaniel Habig, and Henry Neumann; brother of Gerald Neumann (Gloria), and the late Richard Neumann (Anne Marie); uncle and cousin of many. Bob was born at home in Cleveland on October 30, 1931. He attended St. Mark's Elementary and Parma Schaaf High School, graduating in 1949. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in January 1952, honorably served his country, and was discharged in December 1953. Bob attended Fenn College in Cleveland studying Architectural Drafting, then attended the University of Wisconsin, studying Construction Estimating, and studied Real Estate Principles, Valuation and Law at Tri-C. Bob then went to work at Parma Cut Stone with some of his high school friends. He eventually became co-owner of Parma Cut Stone, and for many years designed building fronts, fireplaces, and other architectural structures for homes and businesses. In 1989, Bob became the Building Inspector for the City of Brecksville, Ohio and eventually the Brecksville Building Commissioner, until his retirement in 1999. He coached his sons in little league, watched many high school ice hockey and football games, and even coached his daughter's baseball team. He loved golfing with his brothers and cousin on Saturday mornings, always watched Ohio State football games, and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, having never given-up on them. Bob passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, Ohio. The family will receive friends at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 7501 Ridge Road, Parma, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 9, 2017. Bob's funeral service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 6220 Broadview Road, Parma, Ohio 44134 (Please Meet At Church). Interment with U.S. Army honors will follow at Lutheran Cemetery in Cleveland. Although flowers are appreciated, the family prefers memorial contributions be forwarded in Bob's memory to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
