Stephen George Mortimer (Steve), age 65, was called to God's gracious side the morning of February 8th, 2017.

Steve, a beloved, loving husband, father and friend, leaves this world, but, remains a vibrant memory and an amazing example of the human spirit. Steve was a man of few words, but, his spirit had the Lion's roar. His existence in this life was for his family, and his family knew this well and knows very well of his love. He's survived by his loving wife, Dona of 45 years; his two children and son-in-law, Jennifer, Jeffrey and Joshua; and his three grandchildren, Zachary, Hayden and Elliott.

This incredible, selfless, human being fought a long, hard battle with such grace, humor, and integrity, and has left us all with such respect and awe. Steve's humor and spirit will be dearly missed by his family and friends. The family would also like to thank the Lovelace Women's Hospital and all those who aided in his quality of life the past 16 years, specifically, Dr. Jeffrey Dorf to whom we are especially grateful. They would also like to thank all of their chosen/extended family for their support and love.

A private ceremony will be held for the family.
