WARREN: John L. Ball, 91, passed away April 19, 2017 at Windsor House at Champion. John was born in Commodore, PA to Leonard & Sarah (Branch) Ball. After graduating from Green Township High School, John proudly served his country in the Navy during WWII. After his discharge, he spent his career working as a supervisor for Schaefer Equipment Company. On June 28, 1952 he was united in marriage to the former Catherine Potochick whom preceded him in death on September 9, 2009. John was a sports fan and spent his time cheering on the Cleveland teams; Cavaliers, Browns & Indians. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday April 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Paull ii Parish Church; 420 North St. NW, Warren, OH 44483. Family will received friends for one hour prior to the start of mass. Besides his wife, John was preceded in death by his granddaughter Meghan O'Neal and his brothers Clarence, William and Gerald Ball. John is survived by his son William (Debra) Ball; his daughter Patricia (John) O'Neal and his grandchildren Christian & Nathaniel Ball. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staffs at Windsor House at Champion, Champion Estates and St. Joseph Warren Hospital for all their care in enhancing John's quality of life. My dad, Raymond Yannucci worked at Schaefer as a drop forge hammer man when John was the foreman there. I went to work there at 16yrs old as part time help and John was my boss. I have never forgotten him and when I talk about working at Schaefer John's name always comes up in the conversation. I believe to this day he was the one who got me paid a Christmas bonus the first part timer to ever receive one. I'm sorry I won't be there to pay my respects but my thoughts and prayers will be you and your family
