Phyllis Burruto Obituary
Gates: Friday, May 12, 2017. Predeceased by her husband, John; daughter, Jo Ann; parents, Nicola & Maria Bianchi; brothers, Joe, Frank, and Leo Bianchi, sister, Betty Jewell; many other beloved family members. She survived by her daughters, Mary Ann (Peter) Borrelli, Betty Ann (Lee) Cordero; her grandsons, Peter (Brianna) Borrelli, John Borrelli; great-granddaughter, Hazel Anne; dear niece, Grace Giummo; godson, Billy Jewell (Diane Gallipeau); "4th daughter", Angela Lepore; many other dear nieces & nephews.
Phyllis was an active and devoted member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. The family wishes to thank everyone at Brighton Manor, especially her loving caregiver Michelle Payne.
Friends may call MONDAY only 3:00 - 7:00 PM at DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Rd., Gates. On Tuesday, May 16, all are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in St. Theodore's Church, 168 Spencerport Rd. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. The courtesy of no flowers. For those wishing, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in her memory

When I came to St. Francis in 1977 Phyllis was, and continued to be, the reason why the parish survived. She was a tireless worker for the parish who deserved the utmost respect. Fr. Joe was the "front man" but Phyllis was the heart of most of the ministry of the parish. Always grateful.
