Robert Carroll Appel

Robert "Bob" Carroll Appel, 88, of North Aurora, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013, at Mercy Center in Aurora surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 24, 1924, in Aurora, the son of Walter and Mildred (Pfalzgraf) Appel. Robert served in World War II in England at the Warrington Army Aircorp Base where he met his future bride, Eleanor. Robert spent his life building homes and developed the RCA Subdivision of North Aurora, North Aurora Golf Course, Prestbury-Aurora, the Prestbury Golf Course, Heaton Park of Batavia, The Highlands of North Aurora and along with his son, Bryan, Silver Trails. Robert is survived by his children; Annette Kallevik, Michael (Janice) Appel, Kevin (Jayne) Appel, Susan (Daniel) Hanosh and Bryan W. (Diane) Appel; grandchildren, Michelle (Chris) Hess, Michael (Tiffany) Kallevik, Matthew (Stephanie) Appel, Christopher Appel, Steven Kallevik, Bryan K. (Katie) Appel, Robert (Nicole) Hanosh, Davis Appel and Rose Appel; great-grandchildren, Jared Kallevik, Mia Kallevik, J.D. Davis, Mya Whetstone, Gavin Appel, and Abilene Hanosh, as well as multiple niece, nephew and cousins. Preceded in death by his father, mother Mildred Drew, step-father Leon Drew, his wife Eleanor Appel, a son Steven, his sister Gloria Case and grandson Jordan Hanosh. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, from 2 PM until time of service 4:30 PM at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora, IL 60506. Entombment will take place at River Hills Memorial Park.
