Lenin Len Pando

Lenin "Len" Pando, 86 years old of Sheffield Village, OH passed away August 1, 2017 at the Avon Cleveland Clinic following a short illness. Len was born March 10, 1931 in Lorain, OH to parents James and Rachel Pando (nee Doty). He was one of 6 brothers. Len was a 1949 graduate of Brookside High School and he was a 4 year Letterman in basketball, baseball and football at Brookside High School. He married Darlene Fox August 12, 1949 giving them almost 69 years together. Len was the superintendent for Lake Terminal Railroad and later retired from there after 28 years of service. He was a little league manager and commissioner, class F baseball manager, the recreational director and started the first women's softball league; developed Day Park; built baseball fields on Oster/ Harris Road, French Creek Road and Barr School. He was the president of the Brookside Booster Club; a police officer of Sheffield Village, a councilman of Sheffield Village; Mayor of Sheffield Village for 3 terms equaling 12 years; a free mason, Shriner and a Golden Glove Boxer at the age of 19. Len was "The General" to anyone who knew him. He is survived by his wife Darlene (nee Fox); daughters Debra Pando Blaushild (Steven Blaushild, deceased), Jill Paskvan (Mark Paskvan); grandchildren David Pando, Max Blaushild, Savannah Paskvan and Mandy Solis; great-granddaughter Olivia Solis. He is preceded in death by his children Glen Robert Pando and Dale Alan Pando; grandchild Aimee Lynn Pando; siblings Fred Pando, Robert Pando, Boris Pando, Carl Pando and Thomas Pando; and his son in-law Steven A.
