Charlotte Dewey Obituary

Charlotte J. Dewey

Parowan

Charlotte J Dewey, 94, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away August 11, 2017. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 11, 1923. She later moved to the railroad town of Caliente Nevada, to care for her ailing grandmother. Here she met her beloved husband, Jack Dewey, an engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad. The couple moved to Las Vegas, where they made their home for over 50 years. Mom worked for EG&G at the test site for many years, then moved over to the Nevada State Employment Agency, until she retired. She was an avid golfer and outstanding league bowler who also enjoyed spending summers in Parowan tending to her large garden. She was predeceased by her husband John L. (Jack) Dewey and her son Leland F. Dewey. She is survived by her son, Ron and his wife Jodi, 2 grandchildren, Jon and Amber, and 2 great-grandchildren Tristen and Declan and many nieces and nephews and their families. While we must find a way to say goodbye to this amazing mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, we are comforted to know that when she passed over, Dad was waiting.

Services will be held at Southern Utah Mortuary in Parowan, Utah on 8/17/17 at 1:00 pm MST. Viewing at 11:00 am MST.

Interment will be held at Bunkers Memory Gardens Cemetery (Lone Mountain and Tenya) on 8/18/17 at 12 pm PST in La Vegas, NV.
