Dear Washington and Marot Families. My deepest felt condolences for the loss of s wonderful woman, Mrs Vonnie Mae Jones. I grew up with her as a neighbor, a mentor, and later as a strong friend. Mrs Jones never let life get down or take away her smile and her joy. Even when things were not going aaa she had planed and life's bumps jumped in her way, she met challenges head on and I always admired that trait in her and I have borrowed it from time to time as it has served me well. I will not forget as the good times our families shared hanging out at each other's homes. Truly the best of times and a Blessing to have had her as part of my life. I will continue to try to emulate her beautiful spirit. Farewell my second Mom.

Aunt Vonnie Mae, that's what you asked me to call you the first time I met you when I was still a teenager. You welcomed me with love and open arms and never ever wavered. You will always be in my heart and remain near and dear. Rest in love, until we meet again.

Mama Vonnie is what I always called you, and you called me your "daughter Cheryl". You were a very special part of my life growing up. You showed me love and kept Elaine and me straight. Although I moved away and didn't see you, how I regret that, your influence on my life will always be with me. I know that you now rest with God and smile on us all from your new home in heaven. I thank God for you. You were an amazing woman, mother and friend.
Always in my memory and my heart.....

My grandmother was always sweet, vibrant, and full of life. She faced her most difficult circumstances with hope and faith. I know she loved all of us and we all loved her. Visiting her on holidays and other special occasions were always highlights of our lives, and I will miss these get-togethers. Although she left us at an unexpected moment, we know she is looking down at us and saying that she is alright. We still love her, and will always love her. RIP Gampster.

With heartfelt condolences we want to send love and prayers to the family and loved ones of Mother Vonnie Mae Jones. I have had the pleasure of working with her gracious daughter ELAINE Marot who I know to be a lady of great character, a love, for God, and and a true dedication to family. I have watched her love and care for her mom through the years. She is a true testament of her Mother's grace and charm. I pray specifically for her grand children Jessica Marot, MD, and John Marot as well as Maurice's daughter that they hold their head up high and live out the legacy their loving grandmother has modeled for them. We know grandma will be sorely missed, but she is now one of God's Angels taking care of you from on high! Take strength, you are loved. Grandma has her wings now. Blessings to your beautiful family. Family is forever The Sosanya's

Vonnie was my Mother-in-Law.

I loved her dearly. She was so sweet and caring. She was a big part of my life.

Before we had our daughter Jessica and our son John Yves, Elaine and I would take road trips with her all over Southern California, taking in the sights. We always came back home very happy, reminiscing about what we had done and said.

As our family grew, Vonnie was ever ready and eager to take care of Jessica and, later, John Yves. She was a tremendous help. Her presence greatly benefited our children. In many ways she was a role model to them.

Vonnie was a precious human being. I will miss her -- we all will.
