Mr. William E. Allen III

WILLIAM ALLEN, III ASHEVILLE - William E. Allen, III, 73, of Ashe- ville, passed into eternal rest on Friday, September 22, 2017. A native of Ashe- ville, he was the son of the late William E. and Leola Frady Allen. He was a 1962 graduate of Biltmore High School. An avid fish- erman, he was a member of the WNC Muskey Club and had been featured in several sports magazines, including Outdoor Life and PM Magazine. For many years, he was em- ployed in the floor cover- ing industry. In his retire- ment years, he enjoyed a monthly breakfast with the "Biltmore Group" and visiting his beloved Biltmore Estate, where 3 generations of Allen's had lived. William is survived by his wife, Vicky McElrath Allen, of the home; son, Duane (Diane) Allen of Fletcher; brother, Chuck (Marcia) Allen of Cart- ersville, GA; sisters, Kathy Hitch and Chris Allen, both of Fletcher; several nieces and nephews and awesome cousins. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, September 25 in the Chapel of Faith, Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn. To honor his wishes, he will be buried in the Natural Burial Grounds at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your favorite wildlife charity or fishing organization. The family offers their thanks to the staff of St. Joe's 9th Floor, ICU, and Vascular Surgery for their compassion and care dur- ing his recent hospital stay.
