Gerald F. Goldrick

GOLDRICK. Gerald F. Goldrick, 76, of Suffield, CT, beloved husband of Alice J. (DuBois) Goldrick passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, MA. Born December 19, 1940 in Springfield, MA son of the late William Goldrick and Estelle (Farant) Goldrick Sheldon. He lived in East Longmeadow before moving to Suffield 38 years ago. Gerald proudly served with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He received his degree in Design Engineering from Western New England College in 1971. He was employed by Hamilton Standard as a Design Engineer for 23 years before venturing out to co-own his own business; Grand Central Vacuum, which he did for the past 25 years. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church where he was active in the church choir. Gerald was a member of the East Longmeadow Jaycee’s, the Elm City Banjo Society, and the Springfield Kiltie Band. He adored his grandchildren as well as his rescue pets he had over the years. Besides Alice his wife, he is survived by a son, Jack Scogna of Watertown, WI; a daughter, Monique O’Donnell of Springfield, MA; two brothers, William Goldrick and his wife, Judy, Richard Goldrick and his wife, Linda both of East Longmeadow, MA; three grandchildren, Austin, Allisa and Nichole; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor Broz and his step-father, Richard Sheldon. His family will receive friends Monday, October 2, 2017 from 5-8 PM at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N. (Rt. 159), Suffield. Family and friends may gather Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 9:00 AM at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Suffield, CT. Burial with military honors’ will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Poquonock section of Windsor. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Salvation Army, 170 Pearl St., Springfield, MA 01101.
