My name is alicia thomas. I worked with liz for ten years. It was first job and i was only 15 years old. She took me under her wings and was more like a mother then a boss. I called her this morning at the aquarium and didnt know she had passed away. It saddens me to know such a great women is gone. Thank you for letting people that knew her still be able to leave a post. I dont have facebook. I am very old fashioned so having this as opportunity to make a comment about liz is indeed generous. God bless

I am so saddened to just see this listing about Liz. We worked together the early years at the New England Aquarium and there was never a dull moment. There were 3 "Liz's" in the office at the time, two of us shared one office so that was confusing.

But Liz was a Dot Girl like myself and we immediately hit it off. She was a wonderful lady, loved her job, and loved the people in her life.

I am so sorry that we drifted apart after I left the Aquarium, but we sure did have some wonderful times. Overnight shifts, working private parties, sails on the BlueNose II with all the wonderful crew members. Pops, Tall Ships, movies being filmed there, we had a wonderful experience.

Liz, that picture posted is exactly how I remember you, big smile and all. And I used to love to make you laugh and embarass you til you turned that wonderful beet red!

I am sad to hear of Liz's passing but feel fortunate to have known and worked with her. She had a big heart and was a wonderful character.

Liz was an important figure at the New England Aquarium for decades. She headed up visitor services and was responsible for training and supervising dozens of front line staff. She had high standards that benefited the tens of millions of visitors who visited the aquarium over her tenure. Much of the visitor experience was influenced by how Liz ran the public side of the aquarium. If you ever visited there from the 80's until 2009, her work and dedication had a tangible impact on your experience.

Personally, Liz always had a sparkle in her eye that probably revealed some kind of shenanigans in the works!

Liz, we will miss you but not forget you.

I first met Liz, when she became my supervisor in Visitor Services back in September of 93' at the New England Aquarium. It was always such a pleasure to work with her and boy there was never a dull moment.

She had this thing about our shirts being un-tucked while at work. I fondly remember, talking to her at the reception desk with my colleague John one morning after doing an overnight. Liz pulled up my shirt but unfortunately for her she pulled it way too high and as result there was a wardrobe malfunction. As we all laughed out loud, she turned beat red and walked away.

Do you think that was the end of it? Oh no, she did the same thing again months later, again in front of John. Laughing out loud as if she hadn't learned her lesson, she said " I will never touch your shirt again". Each time I saw her, it was a running joke.

Tough she was tough, you always go to her when there was a problem.Liz will be terribly missed, my condolences to her family and friends.

I heard the sad news this morning. I worked with Liz at Star a few years back and will miss her a lot. She was always nice and was easily one of the best people I ever knew. My heart goes out to her family and friends.
