Dahlia Merlene Davis
North Carolina - Dahlia Merlene Davis, 83, of Moyock NC passed away at home October 31, 2017, from natural causes.
She was born on May 23, 1934 in Beaver, WV. Known as "Mert" by her friends and family, she was called Dahlia only by the love of her life, her husband Buster who pre-deceased her on June 2, 2012. She is also preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Merle Anderson of Beaver, WV and brothers Dannie Gene Anderson of Beaver, WV and Melvin Dean Anderson of Snook, Texas.
She was a dedicated railroad wife which meant many hours alone making decisions on running the household, raising the kids and creating endless meals for all. Homemaking was an art form for her, and she took pride in her home and family.
She is survived by her children, a son, Matt (Renee) Davis of Moyock, NC, Daughters Mary (Tom) Crusie of Suffolk, VA and Melissa (Greg) Owen of Frisco, TX and 6 grandchildren, Aidan, Alaina & Ava Davis, Brandon Layes and Brian and Chelsea Owen and 2 great grandchildren, Alex Marie and Charley Jayne. She is also survived by her sisters Reeda Cook of Beaver, WV and Karen Breeden of Daniels, West Virginia.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Jamie Clark, Ronda Miles and Karen Godfrey.
A memorial service will be held later, date and time to be determined.
