Buddy G. Lindsey, Sr., 78, of Baton Rouge, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 1, 2017. Buddy was a friend to many. He always had a smile on his face, a twinkle in his eye and love in his heart. He was born in Iron City, TN and spent his youth in Savannah, GA. In 1968, he moved to Baton Rouge, where he founded Lindsey's Spacewalk & Amusements. Buddy embodied the company slogan "Here Comes Fun!", as his favorite pastime was bringing joy to children and those in need. Even after selling Lindsey's, Buddy could often be found about town delivering marshmallow shooters and other toys from his woodshop. Buddy lived a life of service as a Mason, a Gideon, and a volunteer at Angola Prison. Buddy Lindsey is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanell Howell Lindsey; his daughters, Sherlyn Lindsey Waghalter (Sam) of Gulf Breeze, FL, and Melissa Lindsey Bezet (Larry) of Baton Rouge; his brother, Robert Lindsey (Margie) and sister, Ruth Talley (Talley), both of Savannah, GA. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Brian Waghalter (Cristina) of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Caroline Waghalter of Pensacola, FL, and Nicolas Bezet of Baton Rouge. Buddy was blessed to recently meet his first great-grandchild, Arabella Waghalter. He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Lillie Lindsey; his son, Buddy Lindsey, Jr.; and his grandson, Mark Waghalter. Visitation and services will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home in Baton Rouge on Monday, November 6, 2017. Visitation is from 9:30-11:00 a.m. with services starting at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook or leave a personal note to the family at www.resthavenbatonrouge.com.

This saddens me, to see this as I just asked about Mr. Buddy this morning. He would always bring donuts and kolache's to Bethany and made sling shots and wood candy holders for me and most of the pastors here. He also attended the Business Men lunch on the first Wednesday of every month. He was missed and will be missed. Always with a smile and a heart of gold!

Jeanell, Sherlyn, Melissa - I just saw this and I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Buddy. I wish I could have come to the services. I loved working for Lindsey's and was talking about him just the other day. Our thoughts and prayers are with ya'll.

My condolences to the Lindsey family. I'll always remember that sweet smile, he touched so many lives in so many ways! I was fortunate to have been able to share some medical education with him years ago, he called me his angel and gave me a beautiful angel that Christmas. It still has a special place in my home! Rest In Peace Mr Buddy

To the Lindsey Family, my condolences to each of you. My experiences with Mr. Buddy was the Family Picnics he help us with over the years. Whatever we needed, he provided with polite staff to help with the games and rides. Always did it with a smile and "Thank You for your business". He was a man with high standards, and our world will miss him. May God bless and comfort you in your grief. God Bless, Vince Giaccone

I remember Mr. Buddy from when I worked at KeyPoint Federal Credit Union many moons ago. He was always so friendly when him and his wife came in. To his family I'm sorry for your loss.

Buddy was a great friend and a wonderful servant of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. I had many touching heartfelt moments with Buddy and it was a joy to study God's word with him. Buddy had a good sense of humor and a quick wit about him. They were all good times that I spent with Buddy. May Buddy's soul rest in peace along with all the faithful departed and may light perpetual shine upon him. May God grant the family perfect peace, love and joy during this celebration of Buddy's life.

Please accept my condolences. May Buddy be remembered for the good and kindness he showed towards all those whose hearts were touched by his generous and giving spirit. God keep those who pass on in his memory because they are precious to him. Psalms 116:15.
