Evelyn Schwalb

Evelyn A., nee Laumbattus, Schwalb, 86, of Coulterville, IL, formerly of Marissa, IL; born on November 25, 1931 in Marissa, IL; passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Coulterville Care Center in Coulterville, IL. Mrs. Schwalb was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Agatha Catholic Church. For many years Evelyn did various clerical tasks at the Marissa Public Library, Marissa High School and the Journal-Messenger newspaper. She was preceded in death by her parents – William and Elizabeth, nee Keim, Laumbattus. Her husband - John Schwalb whom she married on April 29, 1950 in Freeburg, IL and who passed away on February 24, 1997. 2 sons – David John Schwalb and Robert Mark Schwalb who died in infancy. Three brothers and one sister. She is survived by her children – Jean Macke of Marissa, IL; Laurie Schwalb of Chicago, IL; Teresa Schwalb of Marissa, IL; James (Laura) Schwalb of Dubuque, IA; Mary (Troy) Snyder of Chillicothe, IL. Ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One sister – Wilma Schmitz of Belleville, IL. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.heilschuessler.com.
