Judy Spicer Tessnear

Judy Spicer Tessnear, age 62, of Old Henrietta Road, Forest City, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Hospice House in Forest City. Born May 6, 1955 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late Gilley Spicer and Hattie Lou Buff Spicer. She attended Chase High School and was a lifetime member of Riverside Baptist Church. Judy worked for several local companies which included, Absorba Inc., AGI Furniture and as a nurse's assistant for Rutherford Hospital. She also co-owned and operated Tessnear Rug Manufacturing. Judy enjoyed quilting and made quilts for the Shriner's and the Masonic Lodge. She loved preparing and cooking for family gatherings and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Bobby, Abraham, John and George Spicer and her beloved pets, Dixie and Bobo. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Leonard Tessnear; one daughter, Lynn Williams Raye of Forest City; two sons, Allen Williams and wife, Pamela of Bostic and Robert Lee Williams and wife, Margaret of Casar; two step-daughters, Paula Phillips of Charlotte and Neva Glawson and husband, Chris of Forest City; one step-son, Chris Tessnear also of Forest City; four sisters, Louise Dedmon of Harris, Irene Hall of the Chase Community, Janie Fleischer and husband, Dale of Youngstown, Ohio and Julia Spicer also of Harris; one brother, Ronnie Spicer of Harris. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Andrew Raye (Tiffany), Brandy Ju-Cinda Raye, Jason Price, Leann Williams, Benjamin Williams, Mackinsley Williams, Miranda Tessnear and Morgan Layton; two great-grandchildren, Lillyann Stuart and Cam Raye. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the Riverside Baptist Church with Reverend Ted Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
