My prayers and thoughts are with the family at this time. I just recently learned that John passed away, I was in shock. He and I would always throw quick witted insults to each other, and then laugh. He was a joy to know, even though I had only known him for 2 years. May he rest in peace! He will be missed!!

John and I were roommates years ago and we lost touch after I moved out of town. I was so shocked to hear of his passing when our friend Dean called to let me know. My prayers are with all his family and friends for his peace and understanding. Just remember we all will see him again one day. God bless and may John rest in peace in the arms of God.

In a sense it seems almost trite that I was merely Facebook friends with John. But I feel that his personality shone through. He told me he felt strongly that we would someday meet, and I feel badly that never happened. He touched a lot of people in his life, including those like myself who never actually met him. Condolences.

Its hard to wrap my mind around this. John was an amazing person who would give you the shirt off his back. I helped him get Toby Vance from the pug rescue. He loved his boys. John I'm sure Jim was waiting for you with open arms. Rest is peace my friend.

I first met John when we worked together at Presbyterian Hospital in the pharmacy. His infectious laugh and sense of humor would frequently turn a difficult day into a fun day. Even though we did not see each other very often, we knew we could count on each other. My prayers and thoughts are with all of us who loved and cared for John. Life truly will not be the same but I look forward to the day when we can all be together again. John, we love you!!!

The world has gotten a little colder since John left. There will be empty spaces in many lives that will never be filled. I'll miss hugs, and laughter, and the sharp wit. I'll miss that deep rich baritone voice, the side eye, and the double-take gaze. I will miss John. All of him.
My heart goes out to you, his family, as you carry on through this emptiness.

I met John a couple times, several years ago-even though we'd not been in touch much recently, I still remember him as a sweet, friendly soul. My sincerest condolences to John's family, and I hope the memories you had with him will help ease the pain at this time.

We met John and Jim almost 10 years ago when we were vacationing in Myrtle Beach. They were the kind of gentlemen that once you met them you knew you were never going to forget them. For years, even though we didn't get to see them as often as we would have liked, they always remembered us with their annual Christmas Card. We held onto the last card that they both sent and we will hold onto the card John recently sent. We will miss our friend and send our most sincerest condolences to the Sloan family in your time of loss.
