EASTON - John William Coche' of Easton, and formerly of Annapolis, died on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018, at the Talbot Hospice House in Easton.
Mr. Coche' was born in Valle Crucis, N.C., on June 17, 1938, son of the late John W. Coche' Sr. and Irene Danner Joyce.
John had an early career in insurance in the Washington, D.C., area and later Annapolis. In 1985, he changed course and became an expert in the field of hydronics and radiant heat.
His interests as a young man included rally car racing and competitive shooting. He had a lifelong interest in history, particularly of the Civil War. After moving to Annapolis, he enjoyed pleasure cruising on the Bay and "messing about in boats." He was active in his community of Annapolis Roads, serving on the property owners board and as president.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lynn Downing Coche'; a son, John Troy Coche' of Ellicott City, Md.; a daughter, Andrea Wengert of Millersville, Md.; and stepdaughters, Tracey Lane of Annapolis, Susan Singley of Frederick, Md., and Amanda Smith of Annapolis. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Edward Joyce; and his former wife, Janice Muse.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17, 11 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Easton, 617 N. Washington St., Easton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Talbot Hospice House, 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD 21601.
