Alice Cooke Obituary
She was born Alice Belle Shelburne on January 31, 1925 and grew up in Shelburn, Indiana as part of a large extended family during the depression and the Second World War. She married Elmer "Bud" Cooke from Terre Haute, Indiana in 1946 and spent most of her adult life in the Cleveland, Ohio metro area raising a family. Alice retired from a medical office she managed for 17 years, and she and Bud enjoyed being Florida "snow birds" for many years. Throughout her life she was a sharp bridge player, recently active at the Mentor Senior Center, as well as an avid reader. Alice was kind and considerate, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Bud, and survived by daughter Kathy; sons Tom and Jim (Galit); grandsons Ronnie (Mandy) and Ilan (Keren); and great granddaughters Maya and Eilah.
A private memorial will be held with the family.
Inurnment will be in Lake View Cemetery, Cleveland, OH.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mentor Senior Center.
