Genevieve "Jan" Bearb
Lafayette - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2018, 11:00 am at St. Elizabeth Seton Church for Genevieve "Jan" Bearb, 87, who passed away February 24, 2018. Father Austin Leger will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Marianne Hebert will be the lector; Stacey Bearb and Paulette Hebert will be the gift bearers. Interment will follow the mass in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Donald Ray Bearb; four sons, Jarvis Hebert and his wife Paulette, Carroll Hebert and his wife Marianne, Darren Hebert, and Blaine Bearb and his wife Stacey; one brother, Herbert Stelly and his wife Mary Gay of Long Beach, Miss.; seven grandchildren, Chris Hebert, Kelli Stanford, Kevin Hebert, Timothy Hebert, Jacqueline Hebert, Kristi Benson, and Lauren Hebert; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Wilton Hebert, and her parents, Beulah and Andeole Stelly of Arnaudville.
Jan was a native of Opelousas and resident of Lafayette for the past 70 years. She resided in Arnaudville briefly as well. Jan's passion was photography. She was the owner/operator along with her husband of the Don and Jan Photography Studio in Opelousas for 43 years. She was a member of the Acadiana Photographers Guild, the Professional Photographers of Louisiana, and the Professional Photographers of America. She enjoyed time spent at her church, St. Elizabeth Seton, serving as an usher.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Hebert, Chris Hebert, Charles Benson, Darren Hebert, Blaine Bearb and Billy Bearb.
The family requests that visitation be held Tuesday, February 27 from 2:00 - 8:00 pm, and resume Wednesday morning from 8:00 am until services. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm Tuesday evening.

Don, Jarvis, Carroll, Darren , and Blaine you have our deepest sympathy . Miss Jan was one of the sweetest lady , always up beat and never forgot you. I know she will be dearly missed. I will keep you iall in my prayers. Suzette and Jimmie Stoute
