Henrietta A. Couture
WHITINSVILLE - Henrietta A. (Provost) "Henri" Couture, 90, of Whitinsville died Sat. morning March 17, 2018 in the Christopher House in Worcester. She was the wife of the late Damase A. "Cooch" Couture who died in 2003.
Along with her late husband, Henri owned and operated Sparetime Recreation in Whitinsville. She also worked as a Secretary for the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester.
She was Born Nov. 26, 1927 in North Grosvenordale, CT, the daughter of the late Henry A. and Alice E. (Aubin) Provost. She was a graduate of Northbridge High School.
Henri was an avid golfer and won many Worcester County Tournaments. Along with her son, Paul, they won the mother/son Massachusetts State golf championship. She was a member of the Worcester County Women's Golf Association, Whitinsville Golf Club and Pleasant Valley Country Club. She was also an accomplished candlepin bowler, enjoyed her Saturday afternoon pitch league with friends and a passionate Patriots fan.
She is survived by three sons, Wayne D. Couture of Whitinsville, Paul H. and his wife Katy Couture of Grafton and Kenneth R. and his wife Debra Couture of Whitinsville; 6 grandchildren, Christopher Couture and his wife Angela of Sturbridge, Kristy Genga and her husband Anthony of Douglas, PJ Couture of Grafton, Carissa Couture of Grafton, James Couture and his wife Erin of Bellingham and Jennifer Loginov and her husband William of Dunbarton, NH and 8 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Christopher House for their care and devotion during the past few years.
Visiting hours will be Friday, March 23, 2018 form 4-7 in the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 480 Church Street in Whitinsville.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 11 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in St. Patrick's Church, 1 Cross Street, Whitinsville.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
