Allyn R. Gardner 1937 - 2018
OLD FORGE, NY/PUNTA GORDA, FL - Allyn R. Gardner, 80, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica.
Allyn was born on October 18, 1937 in Berlin, NY, the son of Clayton and Nellie (Ward) Gardner. A licensed interior designer, Allyn owned Acorn Interiors in Clinton, NY and Punta Gorda, maintaining loyal clients over many years. Allyn was a devoted member of the Church of Good Shepherd and their day school in Punta Gorda.
Allyn will always be remembered as a kind, thoughtful and compassionate soul, bringing good cheer to all who knew him.
Surviving are his sisters-in-law, Catherine Gardner, Kinderhook, NY and Mary Gardner, TX; cousin, Helen Cox, CA; dear friends, Evie and Tom St. Dennis and their daughter, Allyn's godchild, Beth St. Dennis; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Marion (Alden) Goodermote, Grace (Joe) Karweil and Lorna (Lynwood) Champine; and brothers, Howard (Alfreda) Gardner, Ward Gardner and Francis Gardner.
Arrangements are with Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 128 Fern Ave., Old Forge.

What fond memories my husband and I have of Allyn. He was our neighbor at the Olde Carriage House Apartments in Clinton (1979-1981). Great guy, so fun and interesting. A very kind man and a good person.
