Howard Tabb Obituary

Published by Ibert's Mortuary - Franklin on Mar. 31, 2018.
Howard J. Tabb Sr., a lifelong resident of Baldwin, passed away at his home on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at the age of 73. Howard served his country honorably in the Louisiana Army National Guard, where he received a degree in Business Administration. However, he preferred working with his hands rather than being in an office, and so made a career in the Construction Industry. He was a jack-of-all-trades who could do anything. He retired from construction when he lost his eyesight due to health issues. Anyone who knew Howard knew of his love of livestock and 4-H. He particularly loved raising and showing rabbits and was a lifetime participant and supporter of St. Mary Parish 4-H. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his wife of 47 years, Sandra Sauce Tabb; four children, Tina M. Harmon and her husband Dwayne, Howard J. Tabb Jr. and his wife Sheila, Rachel Folks and her husband David, and Joseph A. Tabb and his wife Natalie; nine grandchildren, Brock J. Tabb and his wife Hillarie, Meagan C. Tabb, Paige M. Gott and her husband Andrew, Drew N. Vouglas and her husband Thomas, Taylor Beverly, David G. Folks Jr., Avery G. Tabb, Anna-Katherine Tabb, and Tucker Tabb; six great grandchildren, D. J. Mitchell, Cataleya Mitchell, Abigail Gott, Hannah Gott, Olivia Vouglas, and Eden Gott; brother-in-law, Huey Carline and Joseph Sauce and his wife Flo; sisters-in-law, Irene Tabb, Margie Guillotte, Marie Henson, Kathy Stroud and her husband Garland, and Faith Broussard and her husband Alton "Buffa"; and a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Joseph Tabb; his mother, Eva Tabb Goulas; his grandson, Blaine A. Tabb; his brothers, Curless "Black" Tabb, Sidney Tabb, John Richard Tabb, and Claude Tabb; his sister, Anna Mae Carline; his father and mother-in-law, Joseph Sauce Sr. and Elmire Daigle Sauce; and his sister-in-law, Amanda Mayon and her husband Egbert. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin on Monday, April 2, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and again Tuesday, April 3, beginning at 8:00 a.m., followed by funeral services at 12:00 p.m. Howard will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery next to his grandson, Blaine. Pallbearers will be Howard J. Tabb Jr., Joseph A. Tabb, Brock J. Tabb, Andrew Gott, Dwayne Harmon, David Folks Jr., David Folks Sr., Larry Carline, Thomas Vouglas, Louis B. Tabb, and Melvin Tyler. Family and friends may view the obituary and express their condolences online by visiting www.iberts.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main Street, Franklin, LA 70538, (337) 828-5426.
