Arthur Kallicott Obituary

Feb. 24, 1940 - April 3, 2018 Arthur H. Kallicott of Marysville, WA, age 78, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2018. Art was born to Harold and Eva Kallicott on February 24, 1940, in Everett, WA. He graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 1958. He served as class president and still had close contact with his alumni. He worked at Scott Paper for 33 years until he got to enjoy an early retirement. Art's greatest passion was hunting and fishing. He spent many hours on the river with his son and many friends, steelhead fishing or hunting ducks and pheasants, making ever-lasting memories. He was active in the G.F. Sportsman Club. He taught a lot of young children about hunters's safety. He was also a member of the Heckman Duck Club, Ducks Unlimited. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Lake Stevens Museum. He is survived by his beloved wife, Gail, of 56 years; his three children, Lisa (Greg) Kasch, Marcia (Bob) Boudreau, Steve (Patty) Kallicott and his beloved dog, Molly. He also leaves behind his sister, Edythe Pavish of Everett and brother, Alan of Marysville. Viewing will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018, from 2-6 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 14, at 12:30 p.m. at Schaefer_Shipman Funeral Home, Private Interment to follow at Cypress Lawns. We ask that donations be made to a charity of choice, Granite Falls Sportsman Club or the American Heart Assoc. We will hold a Celebration of Life at the Granite Falls Sportsman Club, at a later date.

I first met Art 6-7 years ago when I stopped by the Club for the first time. As a wide eyed newcomer, I had no idea what I was doing. Art saw me and for the next hours or so, befriended me and helped me learn at least up from down. His kindness was appreciated. I did not know him well, but what I experienced was a kind man willing to help any newcomer feel more welcome and included. He will be missed.

I'm so sorry to hear this news. I went to Lake Stevens - class of 1958, but moved to eastern Washington in 1955. Attending all of our class reunions . . . Art always would take the time and sit down and visit He was so kind and friendly. My Dad, Nick Leifer, was a teacher and principal in the East Everett/Hillcrest schools and anyone who knew him always remembered those days. My thoughts and prayers are being sent to the family. I know he will be missed terribly by all of you.
