Vivian Brooks Foret, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 14th, 2018, at Pointe Coupee Healthcare in New Roads, LA. She was a native of Red Cross, LA, and a longtime resident of Melville, LA. A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 21st, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Mary of False River in New Roads. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until mass begins. She is survived by her daughter, Toni Marie Foret Grezaffi, who was married to the late Sammy Grezaffi of New Roads; Son, Brooks A. Foret and wife, Ann of Thibodaux; two sisters, Edna "Panky" Luck of Fordoche and Terry B. Jolley of Lafayette; and one brother, John "Buzz" Brooks of Houma; grandchildren, Scott Grezaffi and Andi Perkins of New Roads, Benton, Ryan, and Lindsay Foret of Thibodaux; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Irene Holloway Brooks; husband, Wilton "Tony" Foret; and sisters Audrey G. Brooks, Gurley Rocha and Betty Thibodeaux. Vivian served as the Post Master for the United States Postal Service in the Town of Melville for many years. She was an avid sports enthusiast, especially basketball, and a veracious reader of any and all things about which she could learn. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital www.stjude.org.

Toni and family, so sorry about MissVivan..she was one of a kind,I loved her from the first I meet her. She will always have a place in my heart. I enjoyed all the time she and I shared . Rest In Peace Miss Vivian

So sorry to hear of Vivian's passing. Toni and Dick and their families as well as Vivian's surviving siblings are in my prayers. You can rest with the assurance that she in now in the arms of Jesus in Heaven. She is also reunited with her beloved husband Tony, parents Jim and Irene Brooks, and her siblings who predeceased her.
Once again her family is in my prayers for them. It is my prayer that God grant them comfort in the days to come.

Toni and Dickie, I was so sorry to learn of your mom's passing. you were so fortunate to have her with you for so many years. Remember all the special times you shared. She is now riding on angel's wings at peace and watching over her family from above.
