Dear Eva,
I was much saddened to learn of Jerrell's death this week, and wanted to express my condolences. I did not know that he had been ill. Although we didn't work closely together (different groups), I remember him as a cheerful and polite man. I am thinking of you in this very difficult time.

Dearest Eva,
I was deeply saddened by the news about the death of Jerrell. I am so very sorry.
Jerrell was such a kind soul, who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. I will miss his smiles and friendly waves as he passed our way in the neighborhood. Though our chats were scattered throughout the years he never ceased to be kind and gentle in word.
I will remember the fun we had teasing him as he wore his sneakers covered while mowing the lawn. He shared the 'whys' of this practice to me and thereafter it provoked a chuckle. He inspired us on Sundays and mid week as we watched him, bible in hand, head to church. I will miss seeing him. Our gentle, dapper Jerrell.
May his soul rest easy as he is wrapped in the sweet arms of his Savior.

I worked with Jerrell for several years and he was the kindest, most gentle soul! Such a loss! I often remember his kind and soft-spoken words of encouragement and understanding during tough times... he was always a professional with a great outlook and perspective... So very sad at this loss of a fine friend.
