I was Debis roommate in college, and she was even a bridesmaid in my wedding. We lost touch with each other later, but I remember her as a committed, fun loving, and caring Christian. She also showed courage and creativity, helping me think outside the box. She cared for others unselfishly, and I was not surprised to see how she served others throughout her life.

I worked with Debi at Davita as a Divisional Lead Social Worker (DLSW). She was one of the best roommates I had during one of our away meetings. I so admired her because she said what she thought and carried through with those thoughts. We shared a room during the time that her Husband was running for Public Office. She was so excited about that. I know that she retired, and it's been a few years since I last saw her, but I will miss her.

Bill, Debi's passing is just devistating. She gave so much to the community and to all people. She was so smart, and I loved serving with her on the Social Services Board. She was a caring and giving person, always having time for everyone she met. The two of you were so dedicated to each other. It was always obvious when you were together or when we would just meet at the grocery store. God Bless you Bill, and your loving family. I know your heart aches, but she will always be in your heart.

I was so saddened to hear of the loss of Debi. She always gave of herself to help others. One of my fondest memories of Debi is one of my family's first Christmas in Front Royal. I was missing my mother and sisters in Connecticut. Debi and Bill were so gracious to invite the Siksays to their home on Christmas Eve. We sang Christmas carols, gathered to celebrate the holiday. Bill and the family I am so sorry for your loss, you are in my prayers.

Debi served on the Board of Directors at Dialysis Patient Citizens the entire 4.5 years I was ED. During that time she taught me not only about CKD but also how to be a tireless advocate. She challenged me and made me a better person and leader. Her commitment to patients and the community were an example for everyone. While be differed in many of our views, we never let that get in the way of our friendship, and I always knew I could turn to Debi when I needed help, advice or just someone to listen. She was truly one of the good ones, and I will treasure my time with her and all she taught me.
