Paul Mayer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 7, 2018.
Paul Robert Mayer II passed away suddenly on May 7, 2018 at the age of 65. Born in Philadelphia on August 8, 1952, he was the son of the late Dorothy (nee Martin) and Paul Mayer Sr. Paul was a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School. He worked in sales at Geerlings for over 40 years. Paul had a love for life and a passion for people that was contagious. His greatest joy was spending all his spare time aboard Popeye with his family. Paul's hardwork and dedication led him to believe he could fix almost anything...which he could. Paul leaves behind his beloved wife of 30 years Carol (nee Pisacano) and his children Heather Perrone (Blaise), Melissa Butzbach (Robert), and Paul Mayer III (Evelyn). He also leaves behind his grandchildren Blaise, Sofia, Max, Olivia, Annabelle, Gabriella, Eliana, and Paul IV. Paul also leaves behind his sisters Joanie and Jeanne. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Paul's life at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish, 200 W Germantown Pike in Norristown, on Monday May 14 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, with his memorial service beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's name to The National Brain Tumor Society or The Alzheimers Foundation of America.

Paul was that rare kind of guy that left an indeliable mark...you never forgot him and you always looked forward to seeing him. He made the end of each day at P&O a bright spot and he made you feel special with his encouraging words, quick sense of humor and that undeniable twinkle in his eyes. He will truly be missed but I can assure you never forgotten. You are his mirror image, Carol and you know how I feel about you. Sending you lots of love.

Carol, Paul's smile had a way to light up the room and all those around him. He had great sense of humor and always had kind words to say about everyone. I so loved talking with him while he waited for you at work each evening. He will be so missed and seeing you without him is too hard to even imagine. May God Bless you and keep Paul in his loving care.

We are so very sorry to hear of Paul's passing. He so loved life and being with people. He took time for everyone, always saying something funny and extending such kindness. I will always remember starting my day at Poretta & Orr with Paul coming in to greet me with a smile and telling me a funny little story about he and Carol and their family. We will all miss his bright and smiling face. Paul was truly a wonderful, caring and loving person. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry for your lost. I have fond memories of Paul while growing up. He was upbeat and positive and didn't mind taking his little sister's friend along on a fishing trip. Everyone else on his boat caught a fish except me and he insisted that we wouldn't give up until I did. After some time I finally caught an ugly looking oyster crackers and we all celebrated. A good man and kind soul.

Carol, words cannot express how sorry we were to hear of Paul's passing. We feel blessed to have just seen you both down the shore last weekend. Paul was a wonderful man with an infectious smile. A smile Seaview Harbor will truly miss. We will cherish the memories of seeing you both walk hand and hand down the dock, always with a smile on your faces. Carol and family,
There are no words to convey how sad we were to hear of Pauls passing.
If there was a list of the kindest, most generous and most thoughtful men in the world, Paul Mayer would be #1.
This was his gift; and we are all better for having known him.
We will remember him always.

" I was so envious of how happy Paul always was! It seemed like he never had a bad day. I will always remember how when we were out driving somewhere he would beep the horn to strangers to get a wave. Between the sparkle in his eyes, his constant smile or the way he would greet with his HI Goomba he was one of a kind. Rest in Peace Paul knowing how loved you were.

Our day was never brighter than when Paul would stop by to say Hi. It was a honor to know him and I will always remember the sparkle in his eye. My sympathies to his entire family and all his friends. The world is a little darker without Paul now.
