Ugo J. Ugolini
Madrid - Ugo J. Ugolini, 95, died Saturday, May 12, 2018 at his home in Madrid. Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday, May 16th at Iles Sundberg Kirkpatrick Chapel where his family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A private family committal service will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Ugo was born January 27, 1923 in Bevier, MO to Pete and Jenny (Amidei) Ugolini. He was a graduate of Madrid High School and served in the US Army during WWII. On May 24, 1947 he married Josephine C. Biondi. The couple raised their family in Madrid. Ugo worked as a machinist for John Deere in Ankeny for 33 ½ years. He was a member of VFW Post 5060, a 53 year member of Vittoria Lodge and St. Malachy's Catholic Church. Ugo enjoyed working in his pristine garden and yard. He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed his home and was a very caring man - putting others before himself.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Josephine; children: Madalynn (Tom) Polich, Michael (Darla) Ugolini, Delores (Rick) Moore, Rosanne (Bob) Burke all of Madrid; grandchildren: Melissa McGrory, Leesa Saxton, Linsey Burke, Cady Ugolini, Michael Polich, Jason Moore, Lance Burke, Anthony Ugolini; 18 great grandchildren; sister, Wilma Smith; brothers: Joseph Ugolini and Marion Ugolini. Ugo was preceded in death by his son, Robert; four sisters and one brother.
