Bambara, Richard SARATOGA SPRINGS Richard Bambara left this world as he lived in this world; surrounded by his beautiful and loving family. To Richard, his family was his everything; his strength, passion, his bright star, guiding him through the darkness. Just three short months ago Richard entered the battle for his life and fought with grace and dignity until his final breath on Saturday, May 12, 2018. Richard and his wife Nancy spent the last 30 years together pushing life's excitement boundaries to the max. Their special love was something that only most could wish for. Richard's greatest joy was the life he shared with Nancy and his two beautiful daughters, Megan and Andrea. Every aspect of his life involved the adventurous foursome known as La Famiglia. Richard derived immeasurable pleasure working and relaxing at their horse farm surrounded by family and friends. Richard was larger than life, his spirit and energy ignited every room he entered and inspired every person he encountered. Richard is survived by the love of his life Nancy; his partners in crime and justice daughters, Megan and Andrea; impeccable trained pit bull Prada; beloved parents. Paul and Joan Bambara of West Nyack, N.Y.; supportive and loving sister, Lynda Gach (Ken) also of West Nyack; three wild and crazy bothers, Paul (Lorrie), Michael (Linda) and John (Trish); loyal mother and father-in-law, Sue and Dick Peters as well as numerous nieces, nephews and too many godchildren to name. Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, in St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Richard Bambara Memorial Fund at Albany Medical Center, 43 New Scotland Ave., Mail code 119, Albany, NY, 12208. Online remembrances may be made at www.burkefuneralhome.com

I remember Richard as a classmate in Birchwood Elementary in West Nyack, NY, and in several homeroom classes in JR High & High school, Clarkstown South. I remember him as a very funny and fun loving person. I regret loosing touch after high school.
My condolences to his loved ones, he will be missed.

Richard was like a father to me as well as a mentor and a best friend he welcomed me into his beautiful family with open arms and before I knew it Megan and Andrea were my little sisters and Nancy was the mother figure I desperately needed. I am so lucky to consider myself part of the Bambara family and I will spend the rest of my life making Richard proud Richard had taught me so many things, how to live life to the fullest and most of all how to be a man. I will miss his huge heart and even bigger smile and I will be forever grateful of the many life lessons he taught me I wouldn't be the man I am today if it weren't for you Richard. I look forward to meeting you again in heaven
You will be forever missed may you rest In peace
